Forrest Masonic Lodge No. 19
On September 26, 2005, Brother Weldon Roy Love, Jr., a member of Forrest Masonic Lodge No. 19, presented an American Flag to Forrest Lodge. This flag was flown over Kandahar Army Airfield, Afghanistan, on August 3, 2005, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. The flag was flown from a flagpole erected on the Taliban Last Stand building. On November 26, 2001, the United States Air Force dropped a bomb on the Taliban Last Stand building, effectively ending the last organized resistance of the Taliban. This building is now used as Headquarters for the United States Base Operations in Kandahar. This flag will be prominently displayed in one of our display cases located in the foyer of Forrest Lodge No. 19. Pictured below is is a copy of the certificate of authenticity presented with the flag.
